ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a Law Enforcement Patrol Deputy, you'll be enforcing laws, making arrests, and engaging in crime prevention efforts to protect our residents. Under your commander's direction, you'll patrol the county, respond to public service calls, and address any suspicious or illegal activities. This role will keep you on your toes, and every day will bring something different. As you investigate accidents, arrest criminals, and fill out reports, you give every task your best effort. You'll also be responsible for maintaining your equipment and providing the public with crime information.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
CPR certification
Residence in Cass County, ND within 12 months of your start date
Up-to-date on state and department training and education requirements
Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to testify in court and prepare beforehand
Ability to proficiently use your assigned equipment
Physical ability to walk, run, lift and carry heavy weights, qualify with a firearm, and restrain individuals
20/40 eyesight and hearing within a normal range
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Valid driver's license
In good standing regarding the mission, vision, and values of the office
No formal discipline within the last year of the vacancy closing date
Our Law Enforcement Patrol Deputy also needs to have at least one of the following:
Current ND POST Board license
License from another state
Completion of a Basic Law Enforcement Training Course with satisfactory testing scores
