United-Guardian, Inc. is a manufacturer of pharmaceuticals and specialty care products and we are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our team. This position will be responsible for assisting with the supervision and coordination of maintaining equipment, building and grounds and includes janitorial related tasks, basic electrical work, basic plumbing knowledge, carpentry, painting, masonry and welding.

Required Education:

- High school diploma or GED

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 4 years experience in facility maintenance or related field, preferably in an FDA regulated setting. Pharmaceutical and/or medical device facility experience a plus.

Must have a valid driver’s license

Must have valid ID to work in the United States

Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively

Must have forklift training

Familiarity with adherence to Standard Operating Procedures

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Constructs, repairs, replaces and maintains structural interior and exterior of building, using both hand and power tools.

Cleaning of equipment, bathrooms, offices, labs, production areas, warehouses, company cars, building roofs, parking lot, exterior of building and grounds.

Repairs building fixtures, equipment, and machinery.

Installs and repairs minor electrical equipment and lighting fixtures.

Performs minor plumbing jobs.

Strong managerial approach to general building maintenance, capital improvement projects, work order management systems.

Ability to effectively troubleshoot and problem-solve maintenance issues.

Strong time management and ability to implement and communicate timelines to staff for timely task execution.

Coordination of maintenance related projects, including meeting with outside contractors, obtaining estimates of project components and the preparation and presentation of estimates to the management team for evaluation.

Essential Physical Requirements:

- Ability to walk, stand, and frequently lift items weighing up to 50 lbs., reach with hands and arms, heavy and light lifting and/or carrying, climbing ladders and repetitive motion with hands, arms, legs and body.

- Ability to bend, lift, turn, push, pull, and walk up stairs.
