You will be part of the team involved in the implementation and monitoring the progress of the current 5-year plan for the arts sector, as well as driving organisational excellence in NAC. The work ranges from corporate planning and performance management, to resourcing and secretariat duties. You will play a vital role in facilitating engagement with stakeholders such as cross-departmental teams, MCCY, Board Members, and other external stakeholders, to achieve alignment and smooth implementation of NAC’s work.
The role of Assistant Director oversees a team that supports the department’s work in corporate planning and performance management to support the Council’s strategies to fulfil its mission and vision.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping NAC's strategic direction and ensuring effective implementation of our initiatives while maintaining strong governance standards.
[What you will be working on]
What you will be working on:
Corporate Planning
Lead the corporate performance management, including the development and/or review of NAC's corporate KPIs and targets, managing the Organisational Balanced Scorecard, reporting cycles, and performance dashboards and monitoring tools.
Support HOD/P&P as Board Secretariat to ensure that the Board has proper advice and resources for discharging its fiduciary duty.
Support HOD/P&P in ensuring timely Board appointments and renewals to ensure proper stewardship of NAC.
Plan and organise key engagement platforms such as the annual Staff Conference and Board Retreat to communicate key policy agenda to staff / Board members.
Oversee the Enterprise Risk Management exercise for NAC, including monitoring, assessing and informing management and Board of potential risks and mitigating measures.

The ideal candidate should have:
Minimum 8 years of working experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/ leadership role overseeing corporate planning and strategy implementation.
Strong experience in stakeholder management and engagement
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively
Experience in risk management and governance
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Strong communication and presentation skills
Experience in secretariat work and board management would be advantageous
Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work across different levels
Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop team members
Prior experience in public sector organisations would be an advantage
Experience in arts and culture sector would be beneficial
