Olentangy Schools is seeking qualified candidates for a School Social Worker position(s) available at Olentangy Schools for the 2025-26 school year. The School Social Worker assists families and staff in coordinating and obtaining services for at-risk youth and provides direct services to students in the areas of mental health and student well-being. Qualified candidates must hold or be eligible to hold valid and appropriate licensure for each position with the State of Ohio and Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, if applicable.
Employment status: Administrative, full-time, 195-day employment contract
Qualifications for a principal/assistant principal position include:
Master's degree in Social Work
Valid and appropriate license (LSW or greater) from the Ohio CSWMFT Board
Valid and appropriate Pupil Services School Social Work license from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce or be willing to obtain such license within two years of employment
Alternative to the above qualifications as the superintendent and/or board of education may find appropriate
Essential functions for the position include, but is not limited to:
Ensure the safety of students
Works as part of a multidisciplinary school team to support social/emotional and academic well-being
Responds immediately in crisis situations by conducting safety assessments, making reports to CPS, coordinating with higher levels of care, etc.
Provides awareness of, and access referrals and follow-up to, community services and agencies for families with children identified with specific needs
Provides mental health prevention and treatment services to students as appropriate
Communicates with families through home visits, conferences, telephone calls, emails, and letters
Assist with transportation resources for parents and students
Participates in attendance mediation and intervention where appropriate
