The ideal candidate will be an experienced INTERNATIONAL HR professional to support operations in North America, based in Calgary, AB.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with labor law, benefits administration, payroll and compliance (including EEO, ACA, and 401(k), RRSP), for both US & Canada

Will be supporting the HR leadership team by alleviating administrative burdens

Ensuring the smooth operation of HR functions, with a focus on payroll processing backup, compliance, and benefits administration

Assist with the daily functions of recruiting, hiring, administering benefits, and PIT compliance.

All onboarding, including background checks and employee eligibility verifications, (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance.

Collaborate with HR leadership to identify areas for process improvement

Contribute to HR projects and global HR initiatives

Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Lead stakeholder to ensure availability of required supporting documentation for PIT compliance and tracking and ensure the accuracy of information delivered to Accounting for PIT payments.

Primary backup for payroll processing, including, verifying timecards, updating work locations, deductions, and updating employee files biweekly and semi-monthly.

Administer health and welfare plans, including eligibility, enrollments, changes, inquiries and terminations.

Resolve benefits-related problems.

Process required documents through insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping.

Reconcile benefits statements and invoicing.

Assist employees with benefit claims.

Maintain and verify data related to premiums renewals in human resources information systems (HRIS).

Assist with annual renewal process and open enrollment.

Ensure compliance with local, national and global regulations and applicable employment laws, recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, or related area

6+ years’ experience in progressive administration or support positions.

International experience must have US experience!

Previous hands on payroll processing, compliance, and benefits administration.

Ethics and Code of Conduct Awareness.

Anti-Bribery and Corruption Awareness.

Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification preferred

Spanish Speaking a plus!
