Join our healthcare team and make an impact in West Virginia nursing jobs while enjoying a welcoming community and excellent work-life balance.\n\n\nEstimated Weekly Pay\n\n Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,860–$2,000 per week\n\n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Job Details\n\n Location: Wheeling, West Virginia 26003\n Healthcare Setting: Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) – Cardiac Stepdown\n Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse\n Start Date: October 17, 2025\n End Date: January 16, 2026\n Contract Duration: 13 weeks\n Nursing Shifts: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts (7a-7p/7p-7a), including weekends as scheduled\n Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed\n Self-Scheduling: Available (based on unit needs)\n\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n\n Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; open to candidates willing to obtain a West Virginia nursing license\n Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in Stepdown, Telemetry, or similar clinical settings\n Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS\n Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac strips\n Experience with titrating cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin)\n Willingness to float to Telemetry or MedSurg units as needed\n Valid, unexpired driver’s license required at submission\n\n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities\n\n Deliver high-quality patient care to adults with cardiac and intermediate acuity needs in a 30-bed IMU\n Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Allscripts (Sunrise) EMR\n Interpret cardiac rhythms and titrate cardiac drips per provider orders\n Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy (24/7 support)\n Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers\n Float to Telemetry or MedSurg units as needed, maintaining safe nurse-to-patient ratios\n Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatments, and care plans\n Comply with hospital policies, including navy blue scrub requirements\n Participate in unit orientation and ongoing professional development\n\n\n \n Take the next step in your cardiac nursing career with this rewarding travel RN job in Wheeling, WV.
