ROLE SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
This position is responsible for processing employees’ paychecks by collecting their payroll data and time sheets, verifying employees’ work hours and payment through the payroll system, issuing deductions, earnings and other statements to employees and updating payroll records regularly and providing direct support to the Director of Finance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
Process biweekly payroll for employees, including data entry, timekeeping, and calculation of wages and deductions.
Audit employee timesheets each pay period to correct errors and ensure accuracy.
Ensure compliance with state and federal overtime and break laws.
Update payroll records by entering any changes to employee payroll information or benefits, withholdings, exemptions and saving deductions ensuring accuracy of data entry.
Prepare reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave, compassionate leave and non-taxable wages.
Provide overtime-work hours reports.
Complete finance administrative work, as requested.
Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll queries.
Maintain all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures.
Maintain organized and secure payroll records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Analyze existing processes, systems, reports, data analysis and outputs within the payroll dept and recommend potential improvement opportunities.
Complete general finance work and other duties as required or requested.
Assist with multi-state quarterly tax administration.
Other duties as requested or assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES
High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred in HR, accounting, business or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of increasing responsibility in various accounting and payroll roles preferred
Strong attention to detail required, organizational and time management skills.
CPP certification preferred.
Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and time systems are strongly preferred.
Prior experience in payroll processing or a similar role is highly preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
Capacity to multitask and prioritize tasks appropriately.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Team player with a willingness to assist colleagues as needed.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and establish a positive rapport.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position will primarily be performed working at an office desk, using a desktop computer. This position is based in our Tampa, FL office, M-F in person.
