Job purpose
The Account Manager will be responsible for developing new customer relations in the pursuit of expanding business, focusing on Western U.S. territory, custom rotomolded products. They will also be responsible for supporting new product development efforts and communicating with customers once production has started to ensure that we are continually meeting their requirements. They are a liaison between the plant and customers and ensure effective flow of accurate information.
This individual will preferably reside in Colorado, Washington, California or similar area but will work remotely and travel within the assigned territory.
Duties and responsibilities
Prepare and maintain records for sales leads and progress status of accounts.
Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers' needs, and on technical knowledge of product capabilities.
Attend sales and/or trade meetings.
Build relationships and identify the prospect's need for the products or services.
Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs and to explain how specific products and services can meet these needs
Answer customers' questions about prices, availability, and product uses
Negotiate prices and terms of sale and service agreements
Prepare sales contracts and submit orders for processing
Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies and marketing information
Achieving agreed upon sales targets
Maintain customer information, contact data and ongoing communication in Salesforce.
A good amount of time will be spent cold calling
Work with purchasing to resolve issues with components and lead times.
Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production to develop new products and ensure they meet customer requirements.
Work with Quality, Engineering and Production to properly address customer issues and returns Qualifications / Other Related Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, engineering or related field. New college graduates are welcome.
Excellent math and computer skills
Prior experience with manufacturing sales required
Prior experience selling custom products required.
Five years' experience developing business relationships
Understanding or manufacturing technology
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to change direction as the market changes Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
Work requires significant overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work.
Physical requirements
Must be able to alternately stand and sit with intermediate walking through out shift as needed. Must be able to operate a computer and write legibly.
