About the Role

Central Texas Recruiting is seeking an experienced System Engineer Support Principal to provide high-level systems engineering expertise in support of the Aerial Networks Division at Hanscom Air Force Base. This division is responsible for acquiring, fielding, and sustaining integrated networks, enterprise services, and applications that enable secure global communication across air, land, sea, and space. The selected candidate will oversee software architecture, systems design, and engineering processes that directly support joint and coalition warfighter capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct reviews of program portfolios to recommend alternative plans and improve systems engineering programs and processes

Manage and sustain program technical baselines while ensuring performance compliance with specifications

Perform system-level testing, validation, and verification of subsystems and end-to-end solutions

Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders

Provide systems engineering and technical support across acquisition, integration, deployment, and sustainment activities

Conduct trade space analysis, roadmap evaluations, and cost-versus-capability assessments using engineering economy principles

Participate in program and project risk management activities following Air Force SEAM standards

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of network and communications systems supporting the Global Information Grid (GIG)

Qualifications & Requirements

U.S. Citizenship Required

️ Active Top Secret Security Clearance Required

Education & Experience:

MA/MS in Electrical Engineering with 12+ years of aircraft systems experience (5+ years in DoD)

BA/BS in Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of aircraft systems experience (5+ years in DoD)

OR 20+ years of directly related experience with relevant certifications (8+ years in DoD aircraft systems)

Technical Skills & Competencies:

Proven background in systems engineering, software architecture, and process management

Experience with aircraft systems integration and testing within DoD environments

Strong analytical skills for validation, risk assessment, and trade studies

Ability to develop and deliver technical presentations and documentation for executive review

Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities within multi-disciplinary teams
