Position Overview
A private family is seeking an experienced, polished, and creative Private Chef to join their culinary team.
This position will work in tandem with the family’s current chef to provide exceptional meals and support across multiple residences.
The role will require cooking in Bedford, NY several days per week, traveling to Colorado for approximately 6–8 weeks in the summer, and occasionally working from the family’s New York City residence.
The ideal candidate is passionate about high-quality cuisine, capable of producing a wide range of dishes (from healthy, family-style meals to elegant entertaining menus), and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced household environment.
Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and execute daily meals for the family, staff, and guests across multiple properties
Collaborate closely with the existing chef to coordinate menus and maintain consistency in quality and presentation
Prepare varied cuisine styles — healthy, seasonal, and family-friendly — while accommodating dietary preferences and restrictions
Manage inventory, grocery shopping, and sourcing of high-quality, fresh ingredients
Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environments at all times
Support casual entertaining and formal dinners as needed
Travel to family residences as required, particularly to Colorado during the summer months
Maintain discretion and professionalism within all household settings
Qualifications
Minimum 5–7 years of experience as a private chef in a high-profile or UHNW household
Strong culinary background with diverse menu knowledge and focus on healthy, seasonal cooking
Excellent organization, cleanliness, and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with household staff
Comfortable working in multiple kitchens and adapting to different environments
Willingness to travel frequently, particularly during summer months
Valid driver’s license and U.S.
