We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Infant/Toddler Teacher Assistant to join our Early Head Start team. In this role, you will work cooperatively with staff, parents, and volunteers to support the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development of our youngest learners in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the lead teacher in preparing and implementing daily classroom activities and lesson plans.
Take primary responsibility for a small group of infants/toddlers, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Provide for daily needs, including diapering, feeding, toileting, and napping.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and healthy classroom environment, including light janitorial duties.
Conduct developmental screenings and participate in parent-teacher conferences and home visits.
Foster positive and supportive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Ensure all children are supervised within sight and sound at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Required: Infant/Toddler CDA, Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, OR a willingness to enroll in a CDA program.
Previous experience in an infant/toddler or preschool setting is preferred.
Ability to lift and carry children and objects weighing up to 50 lbs, and meet the physical demands of working with young children (kneeling, bending, sitting on the floor, etc.).
Must obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification and pass required health screenings.
Strong communication skills and a passion for early childhood development.
Familiarity with Early Head Start Performance Standards is a plus.
