Linehaul Driver

Job Description

Self Haul Inc. is seeking experienced CDL-A linehaul drivers for dedicated and semi-dedicated overnight routes out of Cypress and Sugar Land, TX. Drivers run solo doubles, operate on overnight schedules, and are home daily. Candidates must be able to work up to 6 nights per week, including rotating weekends.

Responsibilities:

- Safely operate a tractor-trailer combination with doubles on linehaul routes.

- Complete solo runs between stations and deliver freight on time.

- Properly track and maintain driver logs and required paperwork.

- Inspect vehicle before and after each trip and report maintenance needs.

- Immediately report incidents, delays, or safety concerns to dispatch.

- Adhere to company and DOT safety and compliance standards.

- Work overnight shifts and rotating weekends as scheduled.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 12 months verifiable Class A CDL driving experience (linehaul experience preferred).

- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Doubles endorsement.

- Clean driving record: NO DWI/DUI, NO fatality accidents, NO felony convictions.

- Ability to work 5–6 night shifts per week, including rotating weekends.

- Strong time-management, communication, and professionalism.

Compensation & Benefits:

- Runs pay: $0.60/mile for runs over 130 miles; $0.80/mile for runs under 130 miles.

- Local spot pay: $25.

- Home daily (no out-of-town layovers).

- Stable company with 30+ years contracting with FedEx Ground.Company Description
