Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with EPIC experience for night shifts managing mixed acuity patients, with a valid OH or compact license required.

Responsibilities

Hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit with mixed acuity including both progressive care and medical-surgical patients

Typical patient ratio is 1:5

Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30; day/night rotating schedule option available

Oncology experience preferred but not required

Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Uses the EPIC electronic medical record system

Self-scheduling is available; schedule requests are submitted for consideration

First week of orientation is Monday through Friday dayshift; second week includes 36 hours of on-unit precepted orientation

Initial orientation is structured and split between classroom and on-unit preceptorship

All RTO (requested time off) must be submitted prior to contract signing and built into the agreement

Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers

All candidates must be able to complete OH fingerprinting quickly upon contract signing

Former employees may return as travelers if away from the facility for at least 6 months

Current employees are not eligible as travelers at this location

Requirements

Active OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required

Strong IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy management skills required

EPIC EMR experience required

Degree from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing program required

At least 2 professional references, including one from a manager, director, or formal leader

Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
