What you'll do:
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Administration:
Serves as the junior/secondary VDI engineer for the State of Ohio Enterprise. Onboards and offboards customers in the environment. Works with the Desktop as a Service (DaaS) vendor(s) to ensure business resiliency and continuity in the cloud VDI environment.
Installs, maintains, configures, upgrades and/or administers software independently in Virtual Desktop and workstation support, network administration, server administration, business continuity, information security, and network connectivity, and / or SAN administration (i.e., multiple technology do-mains) where technical work requires specific knowledge to evaluate, select, adapt & modify standard procedures.
Devises new approaches to problems encountered.
Diagnoses, analyzes, and resolves issues for customer(s) across assigned multiple technology domains; creates, organizes, files, and maintains documentation.
Utilizes vendor supplied and 3rd party utilities for monitoring. Diagnoses, analyzes, and resolves issues for customer(s) in an enterprise Virtual Desktop environment. Provides Tier II-III level customer support for customers in a multi-agency set-ting.
Interfaces with technologies and software that integrates and supplement virtual devices in the VDI environment.
Answers questions and presents informal mentorship opportunities to peers and/or lower-level staff via conversation, observation, or technical documentation. Also maintains current documentation store.
Keeps up to date on current industry trends.
Stays up to date on products from industry-leading DaaS providers including VMWare/Dizzion, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
Endpoint Configuration Management and Active Directory:
Leads or supports initiatives with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Microsoft Intune to support the endpoints in a Windows Domain environment.
Work with the Enterprise ECM administrator to ensure consistent quality and security update delivery to Windows-based Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) endpoints.
Deploy feature updates for Microsoft Windows and work with the Enterprise ECM administrator to maintain a consistent standard version of Windows across the service.
Ensure virtual desktop device compliance in Microsoft Intune.
Assists in account management and account security tasks in Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) and Active Directory.
Desktop Support:

Minimum Qualifications:
48 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, &/or administering/operating multiple technology domains including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
-Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; 30 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, &/or administering/operating multiple technology domains including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 24 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, &/or administering/operating multiple technology domains including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
