Pathlink is seeking an experienced Pathologist for multiple surgery centers in the beautiful region of Vero Beach Florida. Must live locally.
This part time position will service multiple outpatient surgery centers specializing in Surgical, Dermatology and Ophthalmologist and Facial Opthalmology cases. Schedule will be two days
This pathologist role will be responsible for the examination, diagnosis, and reporting of surgical pathology specimens obtained from surgical center procedures. This role requires precision, strong diagnostic skills, and effective collaboration with surgeons and other medical professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient care. The pathologist will also contribute to maintaining laboratory accreditation and quality assurance standards.
Compensation will be on a case-by-case basis
Hybrid position reading approximately 30 cases which can be offsite at home if you have your own microscope, however Frozen sections are onsite a 2-3 times a week.
Must live within driving distance of Vero Beach, Florida
Essential duties and responsibilities
Typical patient volume – 1500 cases read remotely
Specimen analysis:
Perform comprehensive gross and microscopic examination of surgical tissue and cytology specimens.
Provide expert diagnostic information, including during intraoperative consultations and frozen sections, to assist surgeons during procedures.
Pathology reporting:
Generate accurate, complete, and timely pathology reports detailing diagnostic findings.
Manage and log all case data meticulously in the patient's record using the laboratory's information system.
Professional development:
Stay current with medical literature and advances in the field of pathology.
Engage in continuing medical education (CME) to maintain board certification and medical licensure.
Required qualifications and skills
Education and certification:
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited medical school.
Completion of an accredited residency program in Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP).
Current certification by the American Board of Pathology.
Experience:
Proven experience in general surgical pathology and frozen section interpretation.
2 years’ Experience working in a hospital or surgical center setting is preferred.
Licensure:
Valid and active Florida medical license or the ability to obtain one.
Skills:
Strong diagnostic skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective consultation.
Proficiency with laboratory management software and equipment.
