The mission of Path Haven is to be "a safe, Christian transitional house for youth aging out of foster care that provides college preparation and job search assistance with permanent housing referrals". Learn more about Path Haven at pathhaven org.

Our Board of Directors provide operational oversight and fundraising assistance. Board meetings occur online quarterly. Board requirements include an annual give/get and training of Robert's Rules of Order as necessary. Members should be able to think critically, advise sincerely, maintain confidentiality and share compassion for Path Haven's mission. This is an excellent opportunity to engage with Department of Children Services (DCS) officials, business executives, ministers, foster parents, educators, etc. to ensure children in foster care transition to adulthood successfully.

Role Description

This is a part-time, online role for a Board Member at Path Haven, located in Fairview, Tennessee. The Board Member will be responsible for attending board meetings, providing strategic guidance and oversight, ensuring proper governance and financial oversight, and actively participating in decision-making processes. Additionally, the Board Member will contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, support fundraising efforts, and collaborate with other board members and the executive team to ensure the organization's success.

Qualifications

- Leadership and Governance skills, including strategic planning and decision-making

- Financial oversight and management experience

- Strong communication and collaboration skills

- Experience in policy development and implementation

- Fundraising and resource mobilization capabilities

- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently

- Experience in the non-profit sector is beneficial

- Knowledge of Tennessee foster care and extended foster care

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, or a related field
