TITLE: Director of Career Technical Education Complex
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
LENGTH OF CONTRACT OR WORK YEAR: 12 months (235 days)
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads, directs, and supervises the Senatobia-Tate County Career Technical Complex programs.
Plans future program direction in accordance with employment opportunities.
Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all personnel assigned to the school.
Guides and supports teachers in classroom organization and management, grouping of students, daily lesson plans and effective use of curriculum and teaching materials.
Leads the development of the school improvement plan and professional development plan.
Supervises the maintenance of the physical facilities and directs the work of the custodians assigned to the building.
Enforces appropriate state and federal regulations, board policies, administrative directives, state and Southern Association accreditation standards.
Ensures that teachers have an ongoing communication system with parents and sets expectations for scheduling of parent teacher conferences.
Works with other principals and directors to ensure the continuous and sequential learning of all students.
Promotes and effectively communicates the mission and beliefs of the Tate County School District and the Complex.
Builds an effective working relationship with the students, school personnel, parents, and the community.
Manages and maintains appropriate student, school, and fiscal records as required by state and district policy.
Confers with students, teachers, and parents relative to discipline and attendance matters.
Responsible for the security and coordination for state testing programs.
Provides leadership for the development and management of a comprehensive program of student services and extra-curricular activities as determined by the needs of the students and the curriculum at the Center.
Adheres to the Mississippi Educator Code of Ethics/Standards of Conduct.
Performs other duties as assigned by the superintendent or his designee.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have valid Mississippi license with endorsement in Administration (486)..
A minimum of three years classroom teaching experience.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior administrative experience.
Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
