Job Description:

Objective

In this role you will support the efficient operation of the practice by accurately scheduling and coordinating complex infusion center appointments. The position ensures a safe and seamless patient experience through active collaboration with patients, providers, nursing teams, and leadership. Responsibilities also include verifying insurance and authorization clearances, managing work queues, and inbox communication.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Scheduling and coordinating complex infusion center appointments including physician visits, lab, infusion and injection appointments for patients.

Close collaboration with patients, providers, nursing teams, and leaders

Ensure accurate and safe treatments and to facilitate a seamless patient journey

Verifying insurance and authorization department clearances

Updating patient demographics

Reviewing and updating work queues and inbox messages

Other duties as assigned

Experience, Qualifications, Education

• Experience working in Oncology, infusion center, dialysis, surgery setting.

• High School Diploma/GED required.

• Two (2) years of relevant experience working in a healthcare setting.

• Knowledge of Oncology, Infusion, dialysis, and/or procedure scheduling.

• Experience with authorization.

• Experience with scheduling with an electronic health record system.

• Bilingual: English and Spanish.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette.

• Strong computer skills and ability to managing multiple systems during phone calls.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, time management skills and abilities.

• Ability to build strong relationships with physicians, clinical and non-clinical team members, and leadership team.

• Working knowledge of medical terminology.

Pay Range:

$24-$30 an hour

Working Conditions:

This position functions indoors in a medical/business environment. Employee will be exposed to moderate noise levels and interruptions. Visual acuity to read and compute screen and paper documents; close and distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception, ability to adjust focus; hearing acuity to converse with staff and customers. Ability to sit for hours at a time. Employee will be exposed to moderate noise levels and interruptions.

Travel:

Travel between local offices when necessary. Requires active California driver's license and proof of insurance for vehicle used.
