POSITION: TEACHER ASSISTANT - SPECIAL EDUCATION

(IDEA=Individuals with Disabilities Education Act)

COMMENCING DATE: IMMEDIATELY

QUALIFICATIONS:

Hold an Associate Degree or higher or;

Two Years or 48 College Credit Hours (Transcripts Verification Required) or;

High School Diploma/GED and the ACT WorkKeys Silver Level Certification requirements - Applied Mathematics, score of 4, Graphic Literacy, score of 4 and Workplace Documents, score of 4.

Interpersonal skills in working with students, professional colleagues, administration, parents, and community

Strong written and oral communication skills: grammar, spelling, punctuation

Good physical condition with ability to lift 50 pounds

JOB DESCRIPTION: Assist the teacher in maintaining appropriate classroom activities and enhance student learning.

SALARY: Commensurate with the Ocean Springs salary schedule for classified positions for the 2025-2026 school year.

Any person desiring to transfer within the system must adhere to School Board Policy GBE.
