Motor Mechanic - Full Time
(Multiple Positions Available)
SALARY $75,000 – $80,000 + Superannuation
DUTIES
• Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in vehicle engines, transmissions, steering, braking, cooling, and fuel systems using diagnostic equipment and service manuals.
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble complex engine assemblies, transmissions, differentials, and suspension systems ensuring precision and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections, fault detection, and condition reporting for safety and roadworthiness.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance services including oil changes, lubrications, timing adjustments, and engine tune-ups to ensure vehicle reliability and emissions compliance.
• Repair or replace worn and defective mechanical and electrical parts using advanced tools and diagnostic systems.
• Perform post-repair testing and calibration to ensure optimal engine performance and system efficiency.
• Diagnose faults using computer-based diagnostic tools and interpret error codes to recommend effective repair solutions.
• Provide detailed maintenance records, service reports, and documentation in accordance with workshop standards.
• Supervise or mentor junior mechanics and apprentices in technical repair methods and safe workshop practices.
• Ensure compliance with all WHS and environmental standards in workshop operations.
• Conduct eSafety, Blue Slip, and LPG inspections where authorised, and communicate clearly with customers about required repairs.
• Expected to support the business in implementing quality improvement processes, diagnostic software updates, and continuous upskilling initiatives.
REQUIRED SKILLS
● Minimum 12 months of light vehicle mechanic experience or training; or
● Relevant Automotive Qualification (Preferably Certificate III or IV), completed in Australia
Other Skills:
● Proficiency in modern automotive diagnostic tools, fault-finding equipment, and repair systems.
● Strong ability to interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data.
● Solid understanding of electrical, fuel, and emission systems.
● High attention to detail, safety-conscious, and efficient under pressure
● Great teamwork and communication skills
● Current Australian driver’s licence
● Willingness to undergo a police and background check
