About the Role
Our client, a regulated financial institution, is seeking a Credit Manager to own the end-to-end credit functionpolicy, approvals, portfolio quality, and reporting. Youll lead a small team, partner with compliance, operations, and commercial teams, and ensure credit risk is managed within the organisations risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day operations of the credit department, ensuring timely handling of queries, reviews, and escalations.
Run due-diligence and credit approval processes in line with internal policies and regulatory expectations.
Monitor portfolio performance; conduct risk assessments, early-warning analysis, and periodic stress testing.
Maintain and enhance credit policies, procedures, and limits; drive continuous improvement across processes and tooling.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to balance risk, commercial growth, and client experience.
Prepare management information packs and present insights to senior leadership and relevant committees.
Stay current on market trends and regulatory updates; recommend policy and appetite adjustments where needed.
Coach, mentor, and develop team members, setting clear objectives and performance standards.

Experience & Education
5+ years experience in credit management or closely related roles within banking/financial services.
Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field (post-grad/ACCA/CFA is a plus).
Demonstrable experience leading credit processes and guiding junior team members.
Working Style
On-site first to support collaboration and coaching, with reasonable flexibility considered based on business needs.
