Senior IT Officer

The role

Were seeking a hands-on Senior IT Officer to keep core IT operations running smoothly while helping the business get the best out of its cloud stack. Youll handle second-line support, own onboarding/off-boarding processes, administer collaboration platforms (Atlassian, Microsoft 365), and contribute to secure, well-documented cloud environments.

What youll do

Resolve escalated user issues and close the loop with clear comms and documentation.

Own joiner/mover/leaver workflows: accounts, access, device setup, and permissions hygiene.

Provide L2 support for cloud apps and services; monitor availability, performance, and security.

Assist with build/config/maintenance of cloud environments; advocate for backup, DR and least-privilege best practice.

Administer Atlassian (Jira, Confluence) to support project tracking, documentation, and team collaboration.

Administer Microsoft services (Purview, Intune, Exchange) with proper configuration, compliance, and integrations.

Keep platform documentation current and suggest improvements as technologies evolve.

What youll bring

Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to get to root causes fast.

Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable collaborating cross-functionally.

Trustworthy handling of sensitive information and access.

Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols.

Solid grasp of cloud architecture/services and security best practices.

Scripting for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) and basic infra-as-code mindset.

Familiarity with virtualisation and containers.

Education & experience

4 to 5 years in IT support/operations with a strong cloud focus (AWS, Azure and/or Oracle).

Degree in Computer Science/IT (or equivalent experience).

Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure) are a plus.

Experience in financial services is considered an advantage (not required).

Nice to have

Endpoint management (Intune/MDM), identity (Entra/Azure AD/Okta), SIEM/IAM exposure.

Backup/DR tooling, endpoint security, mail hygiene and DLP experience.

Familiarity with VMware/Hyper-V, Docker/Kubernetes, and basic CI/CD.
