Summary This position is accountable for ensuring efficient operation in relation to material usage, product waste, and process parameter control to meet production objectives while improving quality, safety and sanitation performance to maintain continued customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Protect yourself and others.

Assist with team safety performance by using the SAFE Process, participation in regular safety meetings, participation in regular safety/sanitation inspections, and maintaining orderliness of work areas.

Ensure proper Lock, Tag and Try of equipment.

* Protect the customer.

Manage product quality by adherence to product specifications, GMP's & Sanitation Guidelines, FM prevention, HACCP and assisting with inline routine sanitation, area sanitation & tool inspection.

* Employee Development.

Line Owner is responsible for the training of all team members in safety, sanitation and job duties in their area.

Responsible to ensure that all upgrades in the area are trained and qualified to perform the essential duties of this position in their absence.

* Communication between shifts.

Ensure proper communication across shifts between team member(s) of like responsibility.

Use enabling technologies (e.g.

E-mail, voice mail) log books, and written notes to facilitate communication.

* React to change productively.

* Ensure adherence to production schedule on shift by monitoring line operation and product flow.

This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining budgeted line rate, preventing out of specification production, startup and shutdown of process lines, adjusting for raw material changes, staging materials and/or ingredients, performing line checks (weight control, temperature, levels, etc) and addback of out of specification product.

* Demonstrate a daily commitment to the Continuous Improvement Process by including the concepts and actions in all work and striving to improve each work process.

Participate in the Quality Work Group (QWG) meetings and follow-up activities.

* Protect production capacity.

Assist maintenance in identifying and resolving line equipment problems.

* Record production, line conditions, line downtime and other parameters accurately and in a timely fashion on paper and or the computer.

* Audit process data paperwork and computer entries for completeness and accuracy.

* Adhere to company policies and participate in company-sponsored training processes.

Must maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity while embodying the tenets of "What We Stand For" and "The Basic Principles." A trained designee will be appointed by management to cover for absences and vacancies * Must maintain the highest standards of data management by creating consistent, reliable data which will ensure accuracy and in turn, maximize the use of data and confidence in decision making.

* Proactively manage safety by ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations and internal Company policies.

Regularly complete behavior-based safety observations.

Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner.

Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

* Six months/ a year minimum experience in a production, manufacturing, or food processing environment preferred.

* Experience in equipment operation, material handling, or line coordination is a plus.

* Basic computer skills are required, including data entry and use of touch-screen systems.

* Forklift certification or the ability to become certified is required after hire.

* Leadership ability, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Language Skills Ability to communicate, read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.

Incumbent must have the ability to effectively present information verbally one-on-one to large group (20+) situations.

Reasoning Ability * Ability to creatively apply experience and common sense to a variety of situations, process and people.

* Ability to act as troubleshooter on shift to resolve issues hour to hour that reduce line efficiency, product quality, safety, and sanitation.

These issues may include equipment malfunction, and variation in raw material and process conditions.

* Ability to recognize when adjustments to the processes are in order due to changing line conditions and variation in raw material.

* Ability to assist in determining when and how to take malfunctioning equipment down for repair.
