Assistant Professor, School of Health Professions, Speech Language

The School of Health Professions (SHP) at Stony Brook University invites applicants to apply for two (2) open faculty positions in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology. These positions are tenure-track, 10-month faculty appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Department of Speech-Language Pathology is located at the Stony Brook University Southampton campus.

The successful candidates will engage in collaborative interdisciplinary scholarship, teaching, and service activities. This role requires demonstrated commitment, interest, and competency in working with students from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and academic backgrounds.

The School of Health Professions’ Department of Speech-Language Pathology offers an M.S. degree, and the program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. It builds strong relationships with community programs and provides opportunities for scholarly activities both within the department and the broader healthcare community. Required Qualifications:

Applicant must have an earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field. ABD is acceptable, but the degree must be earned by the hire date.

Preferred Qualifications:

A record of scholarly publications. Evidence of success in obtaining scholarly funding. Teaching experience at the college level. Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
