Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, and other facilities equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.

• Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

• Diagnoses problems, replace or repair parts, tests, and make adjustments.

• Performs regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.

• Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.

• Accomplishes preventative maintenance (PM) and practices continuous improvement so that production equipment achieves production goals.

• Executes PM tasks on schedule to ensure prevention of future downtime.

• Follows through on PM tasks and line work findings to continually improve equipment reliability.

• Ensures changes in schedules, material availability, and line operations do not prevent PMs from being completed.

• Detects faulty operations, defective materials, and reports those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

• Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Thorough understanding of and ability to operate complex and basic tools.

• Proven mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and completes work in a timely manner.

• Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events and reacts well under pressure.

• Extremely accurate and detail-oriented.

Education & Experience:

• One year certificate from college or technical school; OR two to three years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, climbing, and lifting tools and materials.

• Must be able to bend, squat, reach and stretch.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
