Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join a dynamic and high-acuity team in a Level 3 Trauma acute care setting. This travel contract offers the opportunity to work in a diverse and supportive environment with a dedicated staff and advanced resources.
Unit & Facility Details:
Trauma Level: III
EMR: Epic
Monitor System: Spacelabs
Equipment: Vents, BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow
Staff Support: ED Techs, Sitters, Monitor Techs, RT, Charge Nurse, House Supervisor
Security: In-house security team available
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care to a variety of patients including trauma, cardiac, stroke, mental health, and substance-related emergencies.
Collaborate with physicians, mid-levels, ED techs, and other clinical staff.
Triage patients in a separate triage area (required).
Manage patients in designated psych/seclusion rooms and overflow psych holding areas.
Utilize Epic EMR and Spacelabs monitors for documentation and patient monitoring.
Interpret cardiac strips; monitor tech support available 24/7.
Perform or assist with phlebotomy and nursing draws.
Work collaboratively with RT, who handles ABGs, breathing treatments, and EGS.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies.
Requirements:
License: Active RN license (Emergency OR license accepted)
Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience
Travel Experience: At least one completed travel assignment required
Certifications: AHA - BLS, ACLS
NIHSS
TNCC
ENPC or PALS
Other Skills: Strong experience in managing mental health, ETOH, and overdose patients required
Charting: Prior Epic experience preferred
