Associate Attorney focusing on civil litigation.

Overview

Full-time, in-person position with flexibility for occasional remote work as needed and appropriate.

Litigation firm concentrating in plaintiff’s personal injury, wrongful death, and consumer/employee class actions. The firm has a particular emphasis in medical negligence and product liability cases.

The firm’s typical cases are complex, lengthy, and interesting. You will work as part of a team of lawyers and support staff who collaborate to pursue complex cases, and will also have the opportunity to take the lead on some cases. You will also have the opportunity to try cases in jury trials and collaborate on important cases with exceptional attorneys from around the country.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in civil or criminal litigation and some trial experience, but all candidates will be considered.

Admitted to practice in Kentucky

Record of adhering to the highest ethical standards

Excellent interpersonal skills; enjoy dealing professionally with coworkers and opposing counsel

Excellent legal research and writing skills

Effective oral advocacy and comfort arguing in court

Attention to detail

Ability to utilize electronic case management software and emerging AI tools

Highly motivated, self-started, with excellent work ethic

Representative responsibilities include:

Candidate will be expected to take ownership of cases and actively move them to resolution.

Legal research and writing, including trial court and appellate briefing

Drafting complaints

Developing and implementing case strategy

Planning and reviewing discovery

Taking and defending depositions

Moving cases forward at all stages of litigation

Collaborating with legal support staff

Communicating with opposing counsel

Trying cases

Travel as necessary, although the firm attempts to utilize videoconferencing technology in lieu of travel as much as possible.

Actively utilize emerging technologies to improve client results

Involvement in relevant professional associations to hone legal skills and contribute to firm’s excellent reputation in the legal community
