Job Description

Colombo Law, a premier personal injury firm, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our litigation team. This role offers a unique opportunity to support impactful cases, contribute to trial success, and work alongside attorneys who are deeply committed to advocacy and client service.

Key Responsibilities

Case Support & Management

· Assist attorneys throughout the litigation cycle, including discovery, document drafting, filings, and trial preparation.

· Organize, index, and maintain case files (electronic and physical) to ensure quick access and compliance with records retention requirements.

· Track case deadlines, court dates, and filings in SmartAdvocate/Lead Docket.

· Support attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.

Research & Documentation

· Conduct factual investigations and legal research to strengthen case strategy.

· Draft, proofread, and finalize pleadings, discovery responses, correspondence, and trial materials.

· File and retrieve documents electronically in State and Federal courts (OH & WV).

Client & Team Communication

· Assist attorneys in managing client communications and correspondence with opposing counsel and experts.

· Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and assistants to ensure efficient case progression and positive client experiences.

Technology & Tools

· Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to prepare polished documents and presentations.

· Manage PDFs using Adobe Acrobat (bates stamping, redaction, combining).

· Send secure communications via file transfer platforms.

Qualifications

· 2+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in personal injury or related practice areas.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and case management software (SmartAdvocate/Lead Docket preferred).

· Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently while thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

· Accounting background or advanced Excel skills a plus.
