Job Details

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing key accounting functions including month-end close, treasury operations, cash management, financial reporting, and accounting system oversight. This role also supports financial analysis and delivers insights to guide business decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Track and report monthly revenues and costs related to utilities and services

Prepare and deliver concise reports comparing current results to benchmarks

Support month-end close by preparing journal entries in accordance with GAAP

Collaborate with operational teams to gather data for accurate journal entries

Conduct monthly variance analysis to support accurate financial closing

Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly and annual financial reports

Coordinate responses for external audits and tax-related requests

Complete and review monthly general ledger account reconciliations

Maintain and update billing rate information based on utility rate structures

Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and general support across the Finance team

Perform monthly bank reconciliations and monitor daily cash availability

Recommend solutions to resolve financial and operational issues using sound judgment

Uphold organizational values such as performance, communication, leadership, quality, knowledge, and teamwork

Complete additional projects or tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required

2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting roles

CPA or active CPA candidate required; public accounting experience preferred

Proficiency with ERP and EPM systems preferred

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required

Industry experience in real estate, utilities, or technology is a plus

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

High attention to detail, strong financial analysis, and problem-solving skills

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
