Responsibilities
Analysis of plant requirements and definition of project scope in collaboration with the Project Manager, production, maintenance, HSE, and quality departments.
Preparation of the technical project (basic and/or detailed), technical specifications, instrument datasheets, specifications and requests for quotations, P&ID, and layout.
Sizing of key elements such as pumps, piping, rupture discs, PSV, etc.
Support for procurement activities: offer evaluation, supplier selection, technical alignment of offers.
Verification of technical documentation.
When necessary, take on the role of Field Project Engineer and support the Site Supervisor in on-site activities.
Ensure compliance with ATEX, PED, Seveso, and internal regulations: Process Safety Management (PSM) and Hazard Identification & Risk Analysis (HAZOP & PHA).
Support in drafting technical reports required for obtaining permits from institutional bodies (municipality, province, INAIL).
Coordination with Process Automation for Automation Strategy (I/O list, functional specifications, hardware, definition of interlocks).
Coordination with the electrical lead for inputs related to the electrical project.
With the support of the Project Manager, identify and propose corrective actions to address project issues.
Essential skills
Degree in Chemical, Process, or Industrial Engineering, or in Industrial Chemistry.
1-5 years of experience.
Fluency in Italian is required.
Practical knowledge of English.
Knowledge of chemical plants (batch or continuous), piping systems, instrumentation, control, and utilities.
Knowledge of technical regulations (PED, ATEX, Legislative Decree 105/2015 – Seveso III).
Familiarity with CAD software, SAP, or project management software.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
