Team Lead System Operations (m/f/d) (focused on DevOps)

We are looking for a full-time and highly skilled System Operations Team Lead (m/f/d) with strong DevOps expertise to guide our infrastructure and operations team. The position can also be filled on a part-time basis.

You combine technical expertise with proven leadership experience and ensure stable and secure operations while driving innovation and efficiency. Use your skills and experience to take our platform to the next level.

What will you be doing?

Technical Operations & Responsibilities

You lead, operate, and further develop infrastructure based on Debian-based systems

You oversee platform monitoring, perform error analysis, and ensure timely resolution of incidents

You manage and coordinate deployments across environments

You support and coordinate data center projects

You drive the expansion of automation and orchestration for systems and processes

You ensure data availability and maintain disaster recovery plans

Leadership & Collaboration

You provide direction and mentorship to the system operations team, fostering a culture of reliability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

You collaborate closely with teams to align strategies and share best practices

You actively shape and introduce modern automation, orchestration, and security practices

You evaluate and strengthen the overall security posture in a data-sensitive environment

You manage on-call responsibilities and coordinate out-of-hours support when required

Who are you?

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in system operations / DevOps

At least 2 years of proven leadership experience managing technical teams

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

High level of reliability, accountability, and ability to work independently

Strong team orientation and mentoring skills

Experience with ISO certifications

Excellent written and spoken English and German

Technical Experience

Application Servers: Apache Tomcat, WildFly

Containerization: Docker

Database Administration (general expertise across relational and non-relational systems)

Monitoring & Logging: Datadog, NAGIOS

Networking: DNS, Routing, Firewalls

Reverse Proxies: Apache HTTPD, NGINX, Traefik

Orchestration & Configuration: Puppet, Foreman

Version Control: GitHub

Virtualization: VMware
