Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist with acute care experience and proficiency in modified barium swallow studies for a day shift contract position.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital-based speech therapy department
Monday through Friday day shift, 8:00am to 5:30pm
On-call rotation is required
Role involves acute care caseload with bedside and modified barium swallow studies
Frequent treatment of patients with tracheostomies
Provide assessment and treatment for acute care speech, language, and swallowing disorders
Perform and document modified barium swallow studies
On-call responsibilities may include urgent evaluations or interventions
Travel pairs are not permitted on this assignment
No local candidates within a 100-mile radius will be considered
Requirements
Active Kentucky or compact state Speech Language Pathology license required, if applicable
Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience as a speech therapist
Current BLS certification from AHA required
Current ACLS certification required
Competence with bedside and modified barium swallow studies required
Certification in FEES and VitalStim preferred
Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
Must be comfortable working with patients with tracheostomies
