Job Summary: The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy construction equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, loaders, graders, and other machinery used in site preparation, excavation, roadworks, and general construction activities. The operator must ensure the safe and efficient use of equipment in accordance with operational standards, site safety protocols, and manufacturer guidelines. TESDA certification is required for this position, in compliance with Philippine labor and technical standards. Key Responsibilities:

Operate assigned heavy equipment efficiently and safely for tasks such as excavation, grading, lifting, and site leveling.

Perform daily inspection and basic maintenance of equipment to ensure proper function and report any defects or issues to the Equipment Supervisor or Site Engineer.

Follow standard operating procedures, traffic management rules, and project-specific safety guidelines while on-site.

Coordinate with site engineers, foremen, and other crew members to carry out tasks accurately and on time.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the assigned equipment at all times.

Keep accurate logs and checklists of daily equipment usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance records.

Comply with all safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Participate in safety toolbox meetings and attend refresher trainings as required.

Assist in minor repairs and routine servicing, and support mechanics during scheduled maintenance.

Prevent misuse, overloading, or improper operation of machinery to avoid accidents or damage. Qualifications:

At least High School graduate or equivalent; Vocational or Technical training is an advantage.

Must be TESDA-accredited in Heavy Equipment Operation (specific to the type of equipment being operated, e.g., Backhoe Loader NC II, Forklift NC II, etc.).

At least 1–3 years of relevant experience operating heavy equipment on construction sites.

Valid Driver’s License (Restriction Codes 8 or relevant) is required.

Strong understanding of equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and job site safety.

Physically fit and capable of working long hours and in varying site conditions.

Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately. Certifications Required:

TESDA NC II Certificate for the specific type of equipment operated (e.g., Excavator, Bulldozer, Backhoe Loader, Forklift, etc.).

COSH (Construction Occupational Safety and Health) Certificate from a DOLE-accredited training provider (preferred or may be required by the employer).
