About the Role

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly motivated and growth-oriented Legal Associate to join our APAC Legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple business lines within a global investment advisory firm serving clients in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. The successful candidate will primarily support our Client Platform and secondarily support our Public Markets & Trading team, providing legal guidance on a broad range of regulatory and transactional matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level legal professional looking to grow their career in a fast-paced, international environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

Client Platform Legal Support

Advise on regulatory issues, such as licensing and regulatory change that impact the firm or our clients, across APAC jurisdictions in coordination with Compliance

Review and negotiate Investment Management Agreements, distribution agreements, and other agreements relevant to our Client Platform

Public Markets & Trading Legal Support

Advise on regulatory issues, such as regulatory reporting and market access requirements, in coordination with Compliance

Support legal aspects of capital markets transactions across various asset classes, including documentation and negotiation

Cross-Functional Collaboration and General Legal Support

Develop working knowledge of our business

Monitor regulatory developments across APAC jurisdictions and assess their impact on business operations

Work closely with other members of the Global Legal team and with Compliance, Business, and Operations teams

Manage multiple initiatives with competing priorities in a highly organized and precise manner

Flexibly adapt to evolving needs by developing new skills and assuming additional responsibilities

Provide other legal support as needed from our team, including potentially general corporate work or ad hoc matters as assigned

Qualifications

Law degree from a recognized institution; qualified lawyer preferred

5+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained at a law firm or in-house

Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

Demonstrable track record of achievement, capacity for differentiated thinking, strong work ethic, applying good judgment, and willingness to work with others

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment

Experience with contract negotiation and analysis of regulatory issues; experience with cross-border legal issues preferred

Basic understanding of financial services regulation, particularly in asset management or investment advisory preferred

Fluent in English, both oral and written
