BlastOne will provide you with a great working environment, positive culture, and an opportunity to advance in a growing facility!\n \n The Senior Control Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, detailing, and programming electrical power and control systems for automated blast and paint booth installations, including integration of subsystems.
This role involves creating detailed schematics, programming automation platforms, and ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA, and applicable hazardous area standards.\n \n Systems typically combine proprietary BlastOne equipment with customer-supplied and third-party components to deliver a comprehensive turnkey solution.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in low-voltage power distribution, control system architecture, and safety compliance, as well as hands-on experience with commissioning and field support.\n \n Key Responsibilities\n \n\nDesign 480VAC power distribution systems for automated industrial equipment, including circuit protection and load analysis.\nDevelop control system architecture to meet customer specifications and applicable code requirements.\nPrepare electrical and control schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using AutoCAD.\nConduct short circuit rating analyses and ensure supplied equipment meets SCCR requirements.\nEnsure all designs comply with NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 496, and other relevant safety standards, including those for hazardous (classified) areas.\nDevelop PLC and HMI software primarily using Schneider Electric, Beckhoff, or Allen-Bradley platforms.\nSupport factory acceptance testing, verification planning, and documentation.\nGenerate and maintain detailed Bill of Materials (BOMs) for all phases of design and procurement.\nProvide support during system installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites.\nInterface with vendors, customers, and internal project teams to coordinate design deliverables.\nParticipate in continuous improvement efforts related to design standards, product development, and team workflows.\nContribute to root cause investigations and corrective action processes as required.\n\n \n Required Qualifications\n \n\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited institution.\nMinimum of 8 years of experience in electrical and control system design for industrial equipment.\nMinimum of 8 years of experience with PLC and HMI programming.\nStrong understanding of 480VAC power system design and protection per the National Electrical Code (NEC).\nKnowledge of OSHA and NFPA safety standards, including experience with hazardous area classifications.\nDemonstrated experience performing short circuit rating and coordination studies.\nProficiency with AutoCAD Electrical.\nWillingness to travel occasionally to support commissioning and customer site work.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.\n\n \n Core Competencies\n \n\nAbility to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.\nExcellent communication skills for interfacing with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nDetail-oriented with a strong commitment to producing high-quality design documentation.\nDemonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving ability in design and commissioning environments.\n\n \n Travel\n \nUp to 25% travel to customer sites in North America\n The Perks working at BlastOne\n \n\nGreat family culture with a meaningful mission\nFlexible time off\nGenerous 401k policy\nIndustry leading Health Insurance & Benefits program\nAbility to put your personal stamp on the success of a company\nIncredible opportunities to grow within the company and the industry, both your responsibilities and compensation\n\n \n Personality / Core Value Requirements\n \n BlastOne is a unique company.
