Purpose

Leads and oversees Learning Operations / GHR Operations in Canada ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

• Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge

• Leads the Learning Operations team ensuring all Learning Management System (LMS) activities and learning administration processes are delivered in alignment with Bank’s policies, standards and established service level agreements (SLA’s)

• Oversees the implementation of digital and non-digital learning programs in collaboration with Learning COE and Learning teams in Business and in Countries, ensuring Assignment Profile rules in the LMS target the required audience

• Acts as a consultant to Learning COE to provide guidance on best approach to deliver Learning solutions to target audience considering both LMS capabilities and employee experience

• Resolves complex escalated inquiries and/or issues impacting the delivery of learning programs in the LMS

• Contributes to the development and maintenance of LMS governance and publishing standards

• Works closely with Learning Systems Lead and collaborates with key stakeholders to implement solutions to enhance processes, improve learning delivery and learning technology

• Ensures Case Mangement System “Pega” inquiries are responded accurately and within established SLAs leveraging data to develop strategies to keep the queue up to date

• Creates reports to determine workload volumes to ensure team’s capacity to meet Learningteam’s demands.

• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

• Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

• Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.

• Manages 6-8 direct reports

• Data Analytics expertise

• Basic Coding knowledge

• Expert knowledge of MS Office applications

• Systems: Success Factors/SAP – LMS, Pega

• Post-secondary Degree in Human Resources or Business or related field

• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems is required

• 2 -3 years experience as People Manager is required

• Previous experience in digital program design and development is an asset

• Strong data analytics skills are required

• Strong knowledge of organizational structure and complexity

• Strong project management skills to lead the execution of learning activities

• Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills

• Strong competence in Learning & Development programs, processes, policies and procedures

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Spanish language is an asset

• Working experience in the finance sector is an asset
