Job Title: (Senior) Manager, Royalties Processing (Inbound)
A little bit about our team:
At Warner Chappell Music, we know how important it is for our songwriters to be paid accurately, on time and within the shortest time-frames possible. We are driven to improve each stage of the royalty collection and distribution process to maximize royalties for our songwriters.
Your role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced (Senior) Manager, Royalties Processing (Inbound) to lead our Royalties Processing (Inbound) operations across the Asia Pacific region based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Reporting to SVP Global Rights and Royalties based in the UK, this role will drive strategic direction, operational excellence, and regional alignment for Warner Chappell Music’s royalty processing hubs of APAC in our Malaysia office.
The successful candidate will oversee and complete royalty cycles for the responsible territories, including but not limited to HK, China, Taiwan, ASEAN, South Korea, in the region. You will lead a dedicated team responsible for the matching, ingestion and reconciliation of inbound royalty distribution data into Warner Chappell Music’s proprietary copyright and royalty system. In addition to operational oversight, this role acts as the regional representative to drive process improvement, change management, and strategic alignment across territories in the Asia Pacific region. This is a pivotal role for a results-oriented leader passionate about music publishing and operational innovation.

Leverage technology to improve efficiency and accuracy
Collaborate with digital licensing and finance teams to operationalize digital licenses
Evaluate third-party processing partners and DSPs
Participate in quarterly business reviews and improve approval turnaround times
3. Royalty Processing Services
Ensure timely and accurate completion of royalty cycles across all income types
Oversee ingestion, reconciliation, and matching of royalty data
Maintain robust validation processes and resolve discrepancies
Promote a service-oriented mindset and high standards of support
Develop methodologies for royalty allocation and payment
4. Global Standardization
Contribute to global standardization efforts and resource deployment
Align regional processes with global strategies
Tailor standardized procedures to meet local market needs
5. Technology Integration
Identify and implement tech solutions to enhance processing workflows
Act as Asia lead stakeholder in collaboration with WMG Technology
6. Change Management
Lead initiatives to improve workflows and operational efficiency
Align regional efforts with global transformation strategies
7. Quality Assurance & Audit Compliance
Establish QA protocols to ensure data integrity
Ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations
Complete SOX audit processes and internal controls on schedule where applicable
8. Reporting & Analytics
Define and report OKRs across operational functions
Generate performance analytics and insights for senior leadership
9. Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with writers, clients, PROs, DSPs, and third-party partners
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with finance, publishing administration, digital licensing teams and local business leads
Prepare reports and participate in business meetings
Address inquiries related to royalty processing
About you:
Proven experience in income processing within music publishing or a related industry, such as media and entertainment
Strong understanding of royalty structures, copyright law, and music contracts
Experience in modeling royalty allocations and managing deferred income/revenue
Have a high-level of numeracy. Experience in data manipulation and are confident in completing analysis on high volume of data
Skilled in project management (Agile preferred) and change leadership
Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma)
Proficiency in financial data tools preferably with Excel (Advanced). Power Query, SQL, Alteryx, Data Brew is a plus
Demonstrated success in managing global/regional teams and standardizing processes
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills
Strong command in written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese. Korean and any other Asian languages is a plus.

Experience with Tableau, Snowflake, and royalty systems (CRD/DIF formats)
SOX compliance experience preferred
