Position Summary
As the Business Development Manager, you are a key driver of the company's growth within the banking and financial services sector. You will generate new leads, build and maintain strong relationships with key industry players, and develop strategic sales plans to expand our client base. Ideally, you should have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and a thorough understanding of the financial landscape and its regulatory environment.
Role and Responsibilities
Roles and responsibilities includes, but is not limited to:
Strategic business development
Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to target key financial institutions, including commercial banks, wealth management firms, insurance companies, and fintechs.
Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, emerging trends, and the competitive landscape.
Analyze financial data, market conditions, and client needs to develop effective, value-added sales solutions.
Client acquisition and relationship management
Proactively identify and prospect potential new clients through various channels, including networking, industry events, and referrals.
Establish and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers at prospective and existing client firms.
Work to understand clients' businesses and anticipate their needs through consultative cross-selling and relationship-building.
Sales and negotiation
Lead the entire sales cycle, from initial contact to deal closure.
Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and pitches that effectively demonstrate our value proposition.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contractual agreements with clients to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes while adhering to company policies.
Meet and exceed individual sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Collaboration and reporting
Work with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction.
Report on activities, pipeline, and forecasts.
Use CRM for records.
Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have/be able to:
8–10+ years of experience in business development, with a proven track record of winning sales contracts.
Proven experience in a sales or business development role within the banking and finance industry.
A strong network of contacts within the banking and finance sectors is highly desirable.
A bachelor's degree in Business, Banking & Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal teams.
Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
Self-motivated, with a results-driven mindset.
Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, industry events, and conferences.
