Farm Labourers - Vegetable Pickers & Packers

Our client requires up to 70 hardworking, physically fit, nimble fingered and reliable farm workers to pack, sort, plant and harvest vegetables in the Katherine NT area.

MUST be available to start work in early February 2026 to December 2026.

Candidates must be available Monday to Friday with potential of extra weekend work as needed by the grower in order to complete harvest.

Varying early starts may apply (between 00:00-03:00) depending on crops/products readiness and management requirements during high temperature 40+ degree days.

You will need to be available for possible extra hours of work to ensure all crops are harvested/sorted/packed as required by management.

Flexibility in your availability is crucial in horticulture, as crops growth/harvest is weather driven and may be intermittent.

Most work is outdoors, which can be cold & wet or hot & dirty.

We need reliable and flexible workers who are physically fit.

Regular lifting, standing and bending is required to pick/pack/sort products.

Must be willingin to undertake all other onsite general farm duties which may include but are not limited to harvesting fresh vegetables in the farm fields, then cleaning, trimming and sorting them in packing sheds.

Discarding of rotting and over ripened fruit as instructed.

Physically demanding work with long hours in all weather conditions.

You are required to work in a team.

Ability to follow instructions, attention to detail, good eyesight (no colour blindness) and high concentration levels are required.

You will be required to sort fruit into different grades and standards.

Previous (and current) physical outdoor activities or lifestyle habits will be highly regarded.

Outdoor/indoor work which can be very hot and dry or wet.

Regular heavy lifting (6-12kg) and constant walking, bending and straightening.

Gentle but fast hands needed.

Ability to adhere to company QA and OH&S requirements is essential.

Must have the ability to travel to, or reside in the Katherine area or surrounds, as no public transport is available to the farms.

Work is offered through an agency on casual basis on Modern Horticulture Award 2020.
