Moog Aircraft Group in Tewkesbury is seeking a Skilled Manual & CNC Grinder to join our precision manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role for a machinist with grinding expertise, working on a rotating AM/PM shift pattern. What You’ll Do
Grinding Operations: Set up and operate manual and CNC grinding equipment to produce high-precision aerospace components.
Machining Versatility: Support additional machining processes including Mills, Lathes, Honing, EDMs, and Assembly.
Process Setup: Configure and prepare machining routes for diverse product requirements.
Design Collaboration: Advise on fixture, tool, and program design specific to grinding and related processes.
Team Training: Mentor operators in grinding techniques and inspection standards.
Quality Assurance: Perform self-inspections and complete audits to earn self-certification stamps.
Documentation: Work from approved engineering drawings and inspection plans, recording data accurately.
Lean Thinking: Apply lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, to drive continuous improvement.
Machine Care: Conduct preventative maintenance in line with company policy.
What You’ll Bring
A recognized apprenticeship in machining or a related discipline.
Proven experience in manual and CNC grinding — this is essential.
Experience in engineering or manufacturing; tool room or single-piece environments are a plus.
A reasonable standard of secondary education.
Confidence working independently and collaboratively.
Flexibility across shift patterns and a proactive mindset toward lean tools and techniques.
A strong record of timekeeping and attendance.
