Job Title: Platform Engineer (Full-Stack / Infrastructure)

Our client is seeking a Platform Engineer to build, scale, and manage the infrastructure powering critical applications. This is not a conventional infrastructure role as it requires a hybrid skill set spanning backend development, frontend troubleshooting, and resilient cloud infrastructure. The engineer will play a key role in bridging platform stability and application performance, ensuring the technology ecosystem is resilient, automated, and efficient.

Responsibilities

Full-Stack Development & Support (50%)

Support, debug, and enhance the full application stack, including React.js frontends and Python backend services (Flask, Litestar, Celery) deployed on AWS ECS.

Provide operational support for backend services and Kafka producers/consumers written in Python.

Maintain centralized management utilities and the master API service, ensuring both frontend and backend performance.

Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to diagnose issues and deliver cross-cutting solutions.

Platform & Infrastructure Engineering (50%)

Design, build, and scale AWS environments using Terraform, ensuring repeatability, security, and documentation.

Manage AWS MSK (Kafka) clusters, including provisioning, topic/ACL configuration, cross-region replication, and high availability.

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, testing, and deployments.

Design secure VPC architectures, network segmentation, and service-to-service communication.

Implement observability solutions with CloudWatch, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or full-stack Software Engineer with strong infrastructure expertise.

Advanced Python development skills, with hands-on experience in frameworks such as Flask or Litestar.

Proficiency with React.js for building and troubleshooting applications.

Expertise in Terraform (including wrappers such as Teragram or Terramate).

Deep knowledge of AWS services, including ECS, MSK, RDS, DynamoDB, and IAM.

Strong background in CI/CD
