Alabama Regional Medical Services (ARMS) is seeking two (2) compassionate and motivated Certified Medical Assistant – Prevention Specialists to join our dynamic Prevention Services team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in improving community health outcomes by delivering preventive care, screenings, and education both in-clinic and throughout the community.
As a Prevention Specialist, you’ll travel to community events and operate from our state-of-the-art Mobile Health Unit (MHU) to provide essential health screenings, HIV testing, and wellness education. You’ll also support patients in accessing PrEP services, promoting medication adherence, and ensuring ongoing engagement in care.

What You’ll Do
Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including vital signs and medical histories.
Administer point-of-care HIV screenings and provide results and counseling.
Perform blood glucose, blood pressure, and BMI screenings.
Connect high-risk patients or those without a primary care provider to ARMS clinicians for follow-up care.
Provide care coordination by assisting patients with appointments, updating contact information, and addressing barriers to care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and program database.
Support outreach and inreach efforts for PrEP education and access.
Collaborate with the Prevention Services Team to identify high-need communities and plan outreach events.
Maintain cleanliness, supplies, and functionality of the Mobile Health Unit and screening equipment.
Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of ARMS’s mission and goals.
What We’re Looking For
Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program – Certification required.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Clinical Medical Assistant preferred.
Licensure: Valid Alabama Driver’s License with an insurable driving record
Strong clinical and administrative skills to support high-quality patient care and efficient operations.
