Sr Technical Consultant - Cloud - Linux, RHEL/OEL/Ubuntu, LVM, Shell

Scope:

We are looking for a skilled Linux Systems Engineer to administer, maintain, and enhance our Linux-based infrastructure. The role involves managing various Linux distributions, ensuring system stability, automating operational tasks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business-critical applications.

What you’ll do:

System Administration

Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).

Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings.

Administer storage, LVM, and file systems (ext4, xfs, etc.).

Operations & Maintenance

Perform OS patching, upgrades, and kernel tuning.

Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.

Maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.

Security & Compliance

Implement OS hardening best practices.

Apply security patches and monitor for vulnerabilities.

Automation & Scripting

Develop and maintain scripts in Bash, Python, or Ansible for automation.

Support infrastructure-as-code deployments.

Collaboration

Work with application, database, and DevOps teams for Linux-based deployments.

Provide on-call support for critical issues.

What we are looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

3 to 8 years of Linux server administration in enterprise environments.

Strong skills in RHEL/CentOS administration, including systemd, networking, and storage.

Proficiency in Bash scripting and familiarity with Python or Ansible.

Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, etc.).

Understanding of ITIL processes.

Support (24 x 7 support) – shift rotation, work weekends and evenings

Team player, fast learner, work in a fasted paced environment and share knowledge.
