About This Opportunity
Become a valued member of the Australasian Kidney Trials Network (AKTN) as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA) and make a meaningful impact on kidney disease research. In this role, you will coordinate multi-centre, international clinical trials, contribute to grant applications, and support trial design and protocol development. You will be the key contact for sites, project leaders, and trial committees, driving trial progress through documentation, data review, and on-site visits, all while ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice.

Key responsibilities will include:
Contribute to the development of investigator-initiated clinical research projects and study protocols.
Identify and engage trial sites across Australia, New Zealand, and internationally, implementing strategies to enhance recruitment and maintain site staff involvement.
Serve as the key contact for site investigators and trial committees, convening meetings, distributing materials, and driving follow-up actions.
Monitor sites for Good Clinical Practice compliance, conduct on-site visits, review data, and implement quality control processes.
Assist with ethics and regulatory submissions, contribute to grant applications, and represent AKTN at local, national, and international forums.

About You
A degree in a scientific, nursing or other health related discipline with at least four (4) years subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
Demonstrated substantial practical experience in the coordination of clinical trials, including site coordination and quality control, reviewing and verifying data, and developing and executing project plans according to study timelines
Experience in conducting site feasibility evaluations, initiation visits, monitoring and close-out visits, in compliance with ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
A comprehensive knowledge of ICH GCP, and the regulatory and ethical requirements associated with the conduct of clinical trials in Australia
Experience providing governance and secretariat support for Committee meetings and events
Willingness to travel interstate and internationally, with overnight stays (approx. twice per month, but only if safe to do so within current covid restrictions).
Proficiency with the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check and mandatory immunisations.
