Job Title: Marine Electrician
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of marine electrical experience in new construction, repair, or field service. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, troubleshooting expertise, and the ability to work in a dynamic marine environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Perform shore power installations and troubleshoot various AC/DC electrical systems on vessels.
Diagnose and repair systems, including but not limited to:
Machinery alarms
Winches
Air compressors
Steering systems
Marine Sanitation Devices (MSDs)
Motors and pumps
Generators
Fire alarms
Motor controls
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Lighting systems
Mount electrical equipment under 100 pounds safely and efficiently.
Install local wireways, starters, power panels, switchboards, and control panels.
Pull and terminate electrical cables as required for installations and repairs.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of marine electrical experience in new construction, repair, or field service (required for a 1st Class Electrician position).
Strong knowledge of marine AC/DC electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagrams.
Experience with marine power distribution systems, control panels, and motor controls.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical ability to lift and mount equipment under 100 pounds.
