Our client specializes in the development and manufacturing of a wide range of oral dosage forms, including tablets, capsules, and suspensions, as well as oral and topical solutions. This temporary-to-hire role, based in Fort Worth, TX.

Schedule/Shift: 1st shift, Mon.-Fri. 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The primary function of a QC Chemist I is to perform to a high level in qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical analysis in support of one of the following areas:

Analysis of raw materials and packaging components

Analysis of in-process and finished drug products (including stability) of primarily high-volume products

responsibilities:

Follows Test Methods and completes testing with supervision if needed.

Learns and follows USP concepts for testing.

Developing oral and written communication skills.

Follows 'GDP'(Good Documentation Practices) for their documentation

Has basic lab-work skills and a basic understanding of chemical testing equipment and processes

Learns and follows basic cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) regulations, and Quality Procedures for working in a QC Lab

Compiles results as directed, understands the basic concepts of the evaluation of analytical data (data integrity)

Can identify when basic technical problems occur and seeks help to solve them

Has a basic understanding of lab instruments and equipment and uses sound scientific principles

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role operates in a professional laboratory and office environment; business casual/casual attire is required. This role requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic and/ or caustic chemicals such as Sodium Hydroxide, Hydrochloric Acid, Acetonitrile, Methanol, and other chemical solutions necessary in analytical chemistry. As a result, the employee may be required to wear a respirator or appropriate PPE for certain tasks within the laboratory to ensure their safety and protection. In the event a respirator is required, this will be provided by the company at no expense to the employee. In addition, any medical expenses for respirator fit testing will be covered by the employer.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must regularly lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell.

qualifications:

Required:

Associate Degree (AA/AS) in Chemistry and 2 - 4 yrs experience

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Chemistry or related scientific field w/ 1-2 yrs experience

Wet Chemistry techniques

Experience with HPLC or related chromatography experience

Raw material testing

Other Skills:

Keep up with current technology

Intermediate Excel skills preferred but not required
