J ob Summary
The Laser Tracker Operator is responsible for operating laser tracker equipment to inspect and measure tooling and components. This role ensures quality standards and customer specifications are met, maintains documentation, analyzes data, and collaborates with engineers, fabricators, and assemblers to drive accurate results.
Key Responsibilities:
Measure and inspect tooling and components per customer specifications.
Perform in-process and final inspections of parts and sub-assemblies.
Inspect incoming parts and materials used in production.
Maintain and operate laser tracker equipment for inspections.
Work from tool drawings, NC data, and quality procedures.
Compile, analyze, and report inspection data to guide operations.
Assist with assembly and locate details on tooling sub-assemblies.
Communicate effectively with engineers, machinists, assemblers, and other team members.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in large-scale machining, manufacturing, or CMM operation.
Proficiency with Verisurf, Spatial Analyzer, or other metrology software.
Experience or interest in aerospace and defense manufacturing a plus.
Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, and blueprints.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Hands-on, “get it done” attitude with ability to multi-task.
Knowledge of computers and standard software applications (email, Microsoft Office, databases).
