The Renewable Energy Senior Developer is responsible for the comprehensive management of renewable energy projects. From identifying and evaluating new opportunities to developing approved projects from early stage through the investment decision. He/she also will have to manage the handover of the projects to the construction and operations team following RWE standards and project management guidelines. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge in renewable energy, project management skills, and an understanding of applicable regulations and policies in Spain.
Key Responsibilities:
Opportunity Identification: Research and assess new locations and opportunities for the development of renewable energy projects (mainly wind and BESS).
Feasibility Analysis: Conduct technical and economic feasibility studies, including resource analysis, environmental impact assessments, and financial viability evaluations.
Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of the project from inception to completion. This includes obtaining permits, licenses, and managing suppliers and contractors.
Stakeholder Relations: Collaborate with local governments, regulators, communities, and other key stakeholders to ensure support and compliance with local regulations.
Proposal Development: Prepare proposals and presentations for investors, executives, and other stakeholders.
Technical Supervision: Help coordinate the engineering and construction of projects, ensuring that deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress and provide regular reports on status, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements:
Education: Degree in Engineering (preferably in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar fields).
Experience: Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in developing renewable energy projects in Spain, with a solid track record of successfully completed projects.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with renewable technologies, resource analysis, and power generation systems.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Spanish regulations regarding renewable energy and infrastructure development.
Management Skills: Advanced project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and managing multidisciplinary teams.
Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and, preferably, a good level of English.
Other Competencies: Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and strong results orientation.
Working Conditions:
Contract Type: Full-time.
Travel Availability: National travel is required, depending on project locations.
Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
