Building Custodian – Sachs Recreation Center

Part-Time $17.00–$20.00/hour Deerfield Park District

The Building Custodian role is important to ensure the Sachs Recreation Center sparkles for our members and staff.

Essential Functions:

Performs daily cleaning and maintenance of all locker rooms.

Performs towel laundering.

Assists with the day-to-day cleaning of the facility. Performs mopping, vacuuming, dusting, window cleaning, locker room maintenance, and bathroom cleaning on a daily basis.

Cleans and maintains steam rooms, pool and whirlpool.

Plans and schedules work in accordance with goals established in conjunction with Lead Facility Engineer.

Recommends to the Lead Facility Engineer the purchase of equipment and supplies necessary for preventative and ongoing maintenance of the Sachs Recreation Center.

Keeps the Lead Facility Engineer adequately informed at all times of problems related to the work and changes in plans and work completed.

Recommends policies and procedures for the improvement of maintenance methods, to instruct, counsel and direct in maintenance activities.

Assists management staff in the enforcement of policies and procedures for the Sachs Recreation Center.

Represents the Deerfield Park District at all times in a professional, courteous and enthusiastic manner.

Responds to concerns and requests from members, residents and guests with a sense of urgency and take the necessary corrective action including follow up.

Qualifications:

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

Housekeeping experience preferred.

Ability to multi-task.

Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, coupled with strong communication skills having the ability to represent the Deerfield Park District in a professional manner.

Employee must possess a genuine desire and ability to interact with people of all ages and temperaments

Schedule & Pay

Schedule: Monday through Thursday 6-10 pm

Pay: $17.00-20.00/hour DOE
