Seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN for a leading academic medical center in Columbus, OH. This role supports the Inpatient Nursing Float Pool, providing coverage across oncology and PCU-level units within a comprehensive cancer center. Ideal candidates will have strong clinical assessment skills, adaptability, and a background in high-acuity PCU or stepdown settings. Key Responsibilities
Provide patient care for adult and geriatric oncology and PCU populations.
Float between various specialized oncology and PCU units, including BMT, Hematology, and Surgical Oncology.
Monitor and manage cardiac drips, titrate insulin infusions, and maintain central lines.
Perform phlebotomy, IV access, and blood product administration.
Manage tracheostomy, chest tubes, and non-invasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC).
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic and safe patient care.
Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and communication. Requirements
Active RN License: Ohio or Compact
Experience: Minimum 2+ years of recent high-acuity PCU or higher-level care required
Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Preferred Certifications: OCN, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
Travel Experience: Required

Scheduling: Self-scheduling; no blocked shifts
Weekend Requirement: Variable based on unit needs
Orientation: Initial week dayshift, followed by bedside orientation before independent work
Pre-Approved PTO: 1 request per contract
COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required
